Dangerous Thinking
When you strip it back, anxiety is an ongoing feeling of fear or uneasiness that develops when moments of stress last longer than they should. Anxiety hits when negative thoughts and beliefs take precedence over more balanced thinking until things become overwhelming.
Painful Outcomes
What’s so destructive about anxiety is that it shuts down access to the logical and creative parts of your brain which reduces your ability to experience joy and see things clearly. When it’s in full flow, it can lead to depression (which impacts your happiness), low confidence and self-esteem (which fuels your anxieties even further) and then a whole variety of other negative emotions such as anger, fear, envy, frustration and even hatred which themselves also create more feelings of insecurity. If it’s not addressed, anxiety really does become a vicious cycle.
